Is Carmelo Anthony getting his own Jordan 1's? oooooohhhhhhh!

Heres a sneak peek of what could be the Carmelo Anthony 1's. I have no idea if this is true, but the source is kinda reliable. With All-Star weekend being in NYC this year, Carmelo being NYC's biggest basketball figure and the Jordan brand as the biggest money maker in basketball without a doubt? I can see this happening.

More of a lifestyle sneaker than a basketball shoe?

They would be fire.

Stay tuned.

Phil Jackson compared J.R. Smith to Dennis Rodman. Smith is feelin that.

Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher are bringing the triangle to New York.
J.R. Smith is about the least triangle-style player in the league. Throw in Smith’s antics — untying players shoes during free throws was a fun one last year — and he seems a square peg for Jackson’s Zen triangle holes.
In a Q&A recently with the New York Post Jackson made this comparison with Smith.
“I don’t know if (getting through to him is) possible or not. He might be one of those guys that’s a little bit like Dennis Rodman that has an outlier kind of side to him. But I’m gonna get to know him as we go along, and we’ll find a way to either make him a very useful player on our organization, or whatever.”

Carmelo Anthony spending the offseason in Puerto Rico giving back to the community ::Props::

Video en espanol

What five years ago began as a simple player activity NBA player Carmelo Anthony in Puerto Rico increasingly rooted and this year's "Very Melo Weekend" is armored with more celebrities and more activities throughout the weekend on the island gets, including to a boxing card on Friday night, according to the front of Puerto Rican descent of the New York Knicks.

"I am happy to return to restore my fifth pitch in Puerto Rico and impact lives in a positive ways. This is my fifth year here and want to do something big. We started doing something small with an activity of a single day and in order to restore a basketball court chosen. Now, five years later we managed to expand our presence throughout the weekend called "Very Melo Weekend" where we have a full schedule of activities, "Anthony said during a press conference at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico.

"For me it is a blessing to keep coming here and increase our presence. You could do this in New York or Baltimore, but I prefer to do it in Puerto Rico, where my roots are. "

His schedule for the weekend includes a golf tournament which starts on Friday at 9:00 am at the St. Regis Resort in Rio Grande Bay and lunch for the participants, a welcome party at 7:00 pm and boxing card at the hotel at 10:00 pm

Then on Saturday, Anthony will be part of a celebrity softball game on the Guaynabo Pepito Bonano Stadium at 4:00 pm, and then have a party for your guests at night. Your weekend then ends on Sunday at noon with the presentation of the court to remodel, which is the court of the Condominium Los Olmos in San Juan.

Anthony said several of his teammates Knicks and some friends who are celebrities will participate in several activities identified for the weekend, but would not reveal specific names.

"I invited several of my teammates, I know some celebrities to come to the event and enjoy the weekend. Comes special guests. Some are yet to be confirmed, so I do not want to name names. I assure you I will be, "Anthony said with a laugh.

"We're going to enjoy a good weekend. We will have a golf tournament, a softball game and assist the court to devote. And this year we will have a poster boxing on Friday night at the St. Regis hotel after our dinner. Look how far we've come now. Good start small and grow never imagined this step. But we want to keep doing more and this weekend will bring friends and celebrities to enjoy the island and back to the community."

Dallas Mavericks' Raymond Felton suspended four games on weapons charges

The Knicks traded Raymond Felton to Dallas as part of the Tyson Chandler deal this summer, but there was something hanging over Felton’s head during that deal — felony gun charges.
He had been arrested in New York after he allegedly pointed a gun at his estranged wife. He eventually pled guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, as well as knowingly having a large-capacity ammunition magazine and a pistol that was unlicensed. Felton was sentenced to 500 hours of community service and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.
On top of that, the NBA has now suspended Felton the first four games of next season without pay, the league announced Thursday.
“I demonstrated poor judgment and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Felton said in a statement released by the Mavericks.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban noted in his statement that Felton is allowed to serve is community service hours outside New York and can do them around Dallas.
Snarky Dallas fans took to twitter saying the suspension was a blessing for the Mavericks — Felton struggled mightily last season in New York (which now has Jose Calderon running the point, a much better triangle offense fit). Once the suspension ends Felton (rarely the best conditioned athlete in the league, to be kind) will get the chance to turn his career around under one of the best Xs and Os coaches in the game in Rick Carlisle, someone who will put Felton in good positions to succeed. Whether he does anything with that chance remains to be seen. Color me skeptical.
